This Nile cruise adventure starts with a tour of the renowned ancient sites of Luxor before boarding a lovely Dahabiya sailboat in Esna to begin the enchanting trip up the Nile to the charming city of Aswan. A tour coordinator from Secret of Egypt will be there to give you a warm welcome at the Luxor Airport and accompany you on your tour of the wonders of Luxor.
You will begin your journey at the spectacular Valley of the Kings, where you will experience the rich architectural and cultural history of the site and visit various tombs of the ancient rulers, including King Tutankhamon. The spectacular Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built by the Queen herself, is the next stop on the itinerary. The longest ruling full-blood Egyptian queen, she was the daughter of 18th Dynasty pharaoh, Thutmosis I.
Next you will make a short visit to the Colossi of Memnon, the ruins of the mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III. Finally, you will discover the vastness of the famed Karnak Temple before being escorted in comfort to Esna where you will board your stunning Dahabiya.
At Esna, you will be welcomed on board your home for the next 5 nights by the friendly crew of the Dahabiya. Enjoy a refreshing lunch, after which you are free to relax until dinner, which will also be served on board.

An early departure from Esna will begin your day of peaceful sailing up the Nile to the town of Edfu. You will enjoy a delicious breakfast on the upper deck while admiring the beauty of the landscape passing you by. At Edfu you will be escorted by horse and carriage to the Edfu Temple, which was dedicated to Horus, is one of Egypt’s largest temples, but has been uniquely well-preserved over thousands of years.
You will have plenty of time to look around this amazing site, after which your carriage will take you to a nearby bazaar. Later, lunch will be served on the sailboat and the crew will sail you up the river to the next stop; the privately owned El Fouza Island.
The boat will be docked at the island for the night, and a lovely and unique dinner will be served on the island in a cozy location near the shore of the river. Enjoy a relaxing evening under the stars in the beauty of nature, or enjoy some evening refreshments and social time on the upper deck of the Dahabiya. Sleep peacefully at this timeless and magical location.

Another glorious day cruising the Nile will start with a lovely breakfast on the upper deck, while crew gets the boat underway for the leisurely sail to the little-know temple at Gebel el Silsila.
Next stop will be the Speos of Hormheb, which is an amazing temple cut out of the rock on the shore of the Nile. This site includes seven well-preserved statues, among which are Amun and the Pharaoh Hormheb.
Weather permitting, you will be served a delightful dinner on the temple grounds near the illuminated temple and surrounded by the peace and beauty of the Nile. Dinner will be served on the upper deck of the Dahabiya if the weather doesn’t cooperate, and you will again spend a silent night sleeping onboard at this unique site.

Wake up again this morning to the peace and quiet of the ancient waters of the Nile, and while the crew gets underway to sail, you’ll enjoy another amazing breakfast on the upper deck. The boat will pass by many islets and shallow waters on this day, which will allow you to view wildlife including water buffalo and a huge variety of birds, and domestic animals such as donkeys and horses.
At Kom Ombo, you will visit the spectacular Kom Ombo Temple, which at one time had collapsed and was buried under the sand. It was reconstructed and stands proud at its present location, and you will see that it was equally dedicated to two gods; Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the falcon god.
After a full morning of exploration, you will again board the Dahabiya and enjoy a leisurely lunch and dinner while sailing to a small island where the boat will dock for the night. The afternoon and evening will be yours to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 5 of your Nile cruise will get underway at dawn as the Dahabiya will set sail to Aswan early and you will be served another superb breakfast on the river. Upon arrival at Aswan, you will disembark for a delightful day in this charming city.
First stop will be the magical Philae Temple, which was relocated to its present location because of the flooding of its previous location for the creation of Lake Nassar. Next stop will be a local souk where you will have time to walk around and do some shopping with the local vendors.
The last stop of the day will be at the Unfinished Obelisk, after which you will return to the Dahabiya for time to relax before the fun begins later in the evening. This evening you will be entertained by beautiful Arabic music, the elaborate costumes of the entertainers, and delicious Egyptian cuisine. Your last night will be spent at Aswan aboard the boat.

One last satisfying breakfast will send you on your way as you disembark from the lovely Dahabiya and head out to your departure flight from Aswan. Your Unknown Egypt Travel tour manager will accompany you to the Aswan Airport and help you get checked in for your journey.
